New Work by Lisa DiStefano

New abstract work by Lisa DiStefano

"Lisa di Stefano's work employs subtle details, respectful suggestions, and rousing palettes. A Baton Rouge native, she often chooses the Louisiana landscape as the subject of her paintings; enlivening trees, water, and marsh grasses with a diversity of hues and thin, multi-layered brushstrokes. While her most recent work is an abstract interpretation of the landscape in motion, her past pieces have been compared to those of esteemed Louisiana artists George Dureau (1930-) and Alexander John Drysdale (1870-1934). Having learned and painted in the land of representation, Lisa now communicates to us from a more personal perspective."
