Cynthia Giachetti and Ben Diller

(b. Sacramento, CA; b. Cleveland, OH, 1969)

Husband-and-wife artists, Cynthia Giachetti
and Ben Diller collaborated to create
this installation specifically for the Uniquely Louisiana
exhibition held at the LSU Museum of Art in the
Shaw Center for the Arts in Downtown Baton Rouge.
Home Grown was influenced by the landscape
and culture of Louisiana and examines themes
of industry versus nature.
“This particular installation is influenced
by the architecture, industry and
nature of this region,”
explain Giachetti and Diller. “The light and shadows are
important in making connections between these
different aspects of inside/outside, domestic/
industry, nature/machinery.”
